Chisinau, 23 June /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Pavel Filip today met Special Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, Ambassador Cord-Meier Klodt, the government’s communication and media relations department has reported.

The two officials discussed the present stage of the process of negotiations on the Transnistrian conflict settlement and actions due to be undertaken to advance in settling this problem. Prime Minister Pavel Filip thanked Ambassador Cord-Meier Klodt for the revival of the five-plus-two talks and good organization of the Berlin meeting on 2-3 June 2016. Filip believes that this event could be considered, with good reason, a success of all the sides involved in the process.

The prime minister reconfirmed the firm determination to advance in implementing the agreements reached at the Berlin meeting, noting that the protocol signed at the meeting represented a roadmap for the Bavaria Conference. “We have developed an action plan to achieve this goal, which contains actions for each day, both within the working groups and at discussions between sides,” the PM said.

Pavel Filip showed satisfaction that one of the items contained in the Berlin protocol, on the environmental protection, has been already fulfilled. “Significant progress has been achieved also in terms of apostillizing the graduation diplomas issued by the education institutions from the Transnistrian region,” Filip noted.

In the context, Pavel Filip specified that the authorities worked intensely within the confidence building working groups and at the level of the political representatives, in order to sign an agreement on reestablishing the phone connection, identify proper solutions to problems dealing with criminal files and ensuring the free movement of official persons between the two banks of Dniester.

For his part, the special representative of the OSCE chairperson-in-office praised the participants in the negotiations for their contribution to resuming the five-plus-two talks and urged them to act in order to implement the Berlin Protocol, which represented a roadmap for the Bavaria Conference. In particular, Ambassador Cored-Meier Klodt touched upon the identifying of viable solutions to apostillizing the graduation diplomas issued by the education institutions from the Transnistrian region, implementing a mechanism due to allow participation of Transnistrian cars in the international road traffic and re-establishment of the phone connection between the two banks of Dniester.

Prime Minister Pavel Filip stressed that Moldova had political will to settle the aforementioned problems and would come up with concrete achievements, due to lead to the holding of the Bavaria meeting.
