Chisinau, 20 October /MOLDPRES/ – Ministry of Finance released a statement denying the news, that the program approval with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) was postponed until November, after the fact that at the IMF board of directors meeting on 19 October 2016, there was not adopted a new agreement.

"Preparations for the program approval for the Republic of Moldova by the IMF Board are in the final stage. The timetable remains a normal one and technical discussions continue ", reads the communiqué of the Ministry of Finance.

"We expect to be announced soon the IMF Board meeting date and we outline that there is no connection between the presidential elections in the Republic of Moldova and the agreement with IMF. These two processes are completely independent, which only overlapped in time," the Ministry of Finance mentions.

Previously it was announced that the new IMF agreement could be signed and approved in October 2016.
