Moldovan roads ready for winter time

Chisinau, 9 November /MOLDPRES/- The roads in the country are 95 percent prepared for winter time, and 75 percent are technically equipped for snow removal the vehicles. The head of the State Road Administration Task Force, Sergiu Capatina, made the statement today.

The roads in the country have been rehabilitated, and specialized vehicles are undergoing systematic maintenance to meet technical standards.

Capatina said that the company currently has 20 thousand tons of anti-skid material left over from the previous year.

According to the data, the specialized snow removal technique is prepared in a proportion of 90 percent, and the anti-slip from the Exdrupo company's reserve - 1500 m³, is enough for street interventions for the first two weeks of unfavorable conditions. The rest of the salt requirement was purchased and is on its way to Chisinau. Also, if necessary, the municipality will contract businesses with specialized equipment for snow removal work.

The head of the weather forecasts center of the State Hydrometeorological Service, Ghenadie Rosca, said that the weather will be stable over the next few days. "In the country, the day will record positive air temperatures of up to + 15 degrees Celsius, and at night in some regions of the country - 4 degrees Celsius. Rain is expected to fall on 12 November,” he said.

According to the State Road Administration, last year the road workers scattered about 65 thousand tons of anti-skid material on the country routes.
