Moldovan citizen gets lifetime medical insurance after donating part of liver to child

Chisinau, 22 February /MOLDPRES/ – A man has received an indefinite certificate from the National Healthcare Insurance Company (CNAM) after donating part of his liver to a girl who is the recipient of the first liver transplant to a child in Moldova.
The accreditation was handed to the donor by the CNAM Director, Tamara Andrusca. He also received a golden badge from the CNAM.
The certificate confirms that the donor is part of the categories provided by the Government and that he will have this status throughout his life. Based upon the document, the man will be able to benefit from the range of services offered at the six levels of medical assistance (pre – hospital, primary, ambulatory, hospital urgency, high – performance services, community care and the one at home) including compensated and free medicines.
The first liver transplant operation at children was recently performed by teams of doctors from the Republican Clinical Hospital (SCR) Timofei Mosneaga and specialists from Romania.
