Moldovan president meets deputy PM of Russia

Chisinau, 20 September /MOLDPRES/ – President of Moldova, Igor Dodon, has met with deputy prime minister, the special representative of President of Russia for development of trade – economic relations with Moldova, Dmitri Kozak, which is in Moldova to participate in the Moldovan – Russian Economic Forum, the presidency’s press service has reported.

The Moldovan president has mentioned with satisfaction that in 2019, the number of participants in the forum has reached almost 1,000 persons and it includes high representatives of state structures and business environment in Moldova and Russia.

Especially, the parties have addressed issues upon results of the meeting of the Moldovan – Russian Intergovernmental Commission for trade – economic cooperation. For several months, the Governments of Moldova and Russia have been able to discuss a wide range of issues, many of which can be found in the Protocol of the Commission meeting.

"It is quite significant that the reached agreements are implemented in a practical way so that our countries can initiate discussions on implementation of long – term trade and economic cooperation programmes," said Igor Dodon.

By the end of the meeting, the officials have outlined with satisfaction the dynamisation of the Moldovan – Russian bilateral relations. "We have noticed that the events that take place within the Moldovan – Russian partnership, we are convinced that the cooperative relations between Moldova and Russia are strengthened in the long term", concluded the President of Moldova.
