Days of B.P. Hasdeu Municipal Library start in Moldovan capital

Chisinau, 17 October /MOLDPRES/ - The Days of the B.P. Hasdeu Municipal Library started in Chisinau today and will be held till 22 October. The action is dedicated to the 142nd anniversary of the institution’s foundation.
On this occasion the Municipal Library (BM) organizes a string of events on professional, social and cultural topics, meant to help promote new forms and ways of work for the service of users: projects and programmes with and for the Chisinau residents, marketing and communication strategies, raids into the history of Chisinau, meetings with writers, presentations of books, dialogues with personalities, the summer’s retrospective.
According to the director general of the aforementioned library, Mariana Harjevschi, the events’ agenda is varied. It includes a conference titled, The Public Library of Chisinau city: new disclosures, which brings new information about the institution’s history; meeting of children and teenagers with writer Simona Antonescu, titled, On spots of history or the way from home to home; a flash-mob titled, Transformed Library, followed by a scientific conference titled, #BM142. Inspire. Involve. Empower. Connect (in Eleven format), as well as a conference with posters titled, Experience of the Municipal Library’s innovation services; public hackathon HACK4BM, the final product of which will be the creation of a database for the registration of library activities and their presentation on the website of the library.
„The public discussions on the Strategy of the B.P. Hasdeu Municipal Library for 2020-2025, due to be held on 21 October, will have an important role,” Harjevschi noted.
The Days of the B.P. Hasdeu Municipal Library will culminate with the results of the summer programme meant for children titled, Summer’s Challenges, aimed at developing the abilities and qualities, at making children more creative and more intelligent through readings, games and experiments. The Gala of Excellence will take place at that time as well, during which diplomas will be awarded to the best librarians.
