Chisinau, 14 January /MOLDPRES/ - Message of sympathy on the passing away of Stefan Petrache:

„We were deeply saddened to learn that People’s Artist of Moldova Stefan Petrache died on 13 January evening.

The departure of Stefan Petrache leaves a huge void in the national artistic world.

Stefan Petrache was a Man, an example of nobleness and decency, whose art will have an echo in our souls for many years on.

We convey condolences to the mourning family and we are by their side in these grievous moments.”

Stefan Petrache was born in the Vanatori village, central Nisporeni district, on 8 May 1949. He sang in the bands Contemporanul, Orizont, Play and Noroc. Entire generations were educated with the memorable songs, In August, Chemarea casei părintești (The call of parents’ home), Adevăruri (Truths), Eu vin (I come) and many others. He is People’s Artist and was awarded the Order of the Republic.
