Chisinau, 16 October /MOLDPRES/ - The repair of about 18 km of a segment of the M3 national road, - bypass of the Slobozia Mare village, will be finished till the end of May 2022. The road makes connection with the Giurgiulesti Customs at the border with Romania, according to the State Administration of Roads (ASD).

„Bypassing the settlements Slobozia Mare and Giurgiulesti, the restoration of this segment will facilitate the access of trucks to the border crossing point and will considerably shorten the movement time. At the same time, it will diminish the inconveniences created to residents on the entire current road segment,’’ ASD said.

For its part, the entrepreneur who carried out the works informed about the difficulties he is facing because of the COVIOD-19 pandemic; yet, he gave assurances that these hardships would not affect the progress of works. At the same time, the entrepreneur stressed his commitment to finish the construction works till the end of May 2022, - a term established under contract.

The contract with the enterprise which carries out repair works was signed on 31 January 2019 and the works of construction of the M3 national road, the bypass of the Slobozia Mare village, started in late May 2019.

The project is financed by loans worth over 18.2 million euros, provided by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
