Moldova moves into new era of natural gas supply - Energy Minister says

Chisinau, May 2 /MOLDPRES/ - Moldova is moving into a new era of natural gas supply, and after Russia reduced the volume of gas delivered, our country not only successfully overcame this situation, but also managed to make progress in diversifying gas supply sources. Energy Minister Victor Parlicov made the statement. He spoke to mayors and entrepreneurs of Balti.

Parlicov stressed that in the last two years our country has managed to move towards energy security and independence with unprecedented speed, but the catalyst for change was Russia's war in Ukraine.

He noted that a first step in strengthening independence from imported energy was taken with the synchronization of the national power system with the European one, ENTSO-E, which ensured the stability of the system when Russia was attacking Ukraine's energy infrastructure.

As for the use of renewable energy, the minister said Moldova could be the first country to demonstrate that the green energy industrialisation model is feasible.
