Chisinau, Aug 2 /MOLDPRES/- Petrol and diesel prices are falling for the fourth consecutive week. The National Agency for Energy Regulation (ANRE) explained that the cheapening is due to the further decrease of Platts quotations.
As a result, the standard diesel has been cheaper by 1.17 lei per liter over the last four weeks, while COR 95 petrol has been cheaper by about 0.73 lei per liter, with pump prices during the period falling below 21 lei per liter for diesel and 25 lei per liter for petrol.
"The cheapness is due to the further decrease in Platts quotations for petrol and diesel, despite pessimistic expectations that emerged after several statements of discontent by high-ranking officials in Slovakia and Hungary related to the recent blockade of the transportation through Ukraine of oil belonging to the Russian company Lukoil," ANRE explained.
Under these circumstances, for the next three days, ANRE has announced a maximum price for COR 95 petrol of 24.56 lei per liter, down by 0.03 lei. At the same time, diesel will be sold for a maximum of 20.80 lei per liter, the price will be lower by 0.05 lei.
