IT sector of Moldova generates over one quarter of total services' exports, exceeding 600 million U.S. dollars in value
The IT sector generated over one quarter of Moldova’s total services’ exports, with a value exceeding 600 million U.S. dollars on the period January-September 2025. The Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization (MDED) today unveiled data to this effect.
Thus, IT services’ exports increased by 23 per cent compared to the same period of the previous year, showing the growing competitiveness of digital solutions developed in Moldova on international markets.
MDED emphasized that this development confirmed the transformation of IT from a dynamic sector into a strategic pillar of the national economy. At the same time, the recorded performance consolidates Moldova’s position as a regional hub for technology and innovation, with strong potential for sustainable development and integration into the global digital economy.
According to statistics data, during January–September 2025, Moldova’s exports of services registered robust growth, with an advance of 9.7 per cent and contributing 1.4 percentage points to Gross Domestic Product’s growth.
