Price for liter of petrol crossed threshold of 25 lei
Chisinau, 23 Jan. /MOLDPRES/- A liter of COR 95 petrol will cost no more than 25.02 lei on 24 January, up by 0.22 lei than today. The data were made public by the National Agency for Energy Regulation (ANRE).
At the same time, standard diesel will become more expensive by 17 lei per liter, with a price of 24.69 lei. The price increases are argued by the increase in Platts quotations for oil products. "ANRE continues to witness a sharp increase in Platts quotations for petroleum products. This process takes place in the context of the market's expectations regarding the entry into force of the European Union's decision to abandon petroleum products derived from Russian oil", states ANRE in a press release.
Besides the EU embargo on Russian crude oil supplies, which came into force at the end of last year, a new ban will come into effect starting February 5 - to procure fuels produced from Russian crude oil. In the opinion of foreign experts, a stabilization of the regional market of petroleum products could occur only after a rearrangement of production sources and logistic chains to cover fuel needs in European states starting from the new conditions generated by the Russian military aggression in Ukraine.
Therefore, in the last session, the Platts quotation for petrol reached about $900/ton, and for diesel oil about $980/ton, which is the highest level in the last 10 weeks.
