Moldovan foreign affairs minister has meeting with former chief negotiations for Romania's accession to EU
Chisinau, 4 October /MOLDPRES/ - Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Nicu Popescu has had a meeting with the former chief negotiator for Romania’s accession to the European Union, Vasile Puscas. Popescu held a constructive and detailed discussion on the process of European integration and Moldova’s perspectives as country candidate, the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry’s (MAEIE) press service has reported.
The officials discussed the lessons learned by Romania on its European integration way, as well as the challenges and opportunities opened for Moldova, especially on the eve of EU’s enlargement report, which will assess the progress made by Moldova. The sides exchanged opinions on the advancement of the accession process and in this respect the country relies on the positive vote of the EU member states for starting the negotiations on accession till the end of this year.
„I thank Mr. Vasile Puscas for discussion and for the sharing of his valuable experience. I remind that, several weeks ago, dozens of civil servants benefited from training in the European affairs sector within a programme created and organized in partnership with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Romania, Romanian Diplomatic Institute, RoAid – Romanian Agency for International Development and Mr. Puscas,’’ Minister Nicu Popescu said.
