Moldovan president meets Armenian envoy
Chisinau, 2 September /MOLDPRES/- President Igor Dodon had a working meeting today with Jivan Movsisyan, Armenian Ambassador to Moldova.
According to the presidential press service, the officials discussed several issues related to expanding the Moldovan-Armenian dialogue in all areas of mutual interest. Dodon noted that over the past years, the relations between the two countries have been significantly strengthened, including at management level.
The official visit of the Moldovan president to Armenia took place in November 2017 - the first of its kind in the history of bilateral relations between the two states. In 2018 and 2019, the Moldovan president visited Yerevan city and attended the Francophone Summit and, respectively, the Eurasian Economic Union. Also, in February 2020, a delegation of the Moldovan Parliament, led by Speaker Zinaida Greceanii paid a visit to Armenia.
The sides discussed the possibility of organizing a visit to Chisinau by Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan. Initially, the official's arrival was planned for June, but was canceled due to the pandemic.
Dodon advocated to organize during the Armenian Prime Minister’ visit a meeting of bilateral intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation and business forum. In this context, the sides noted the mutual interest to expand trade and economic relations between the two countries.
