Moldovan president, Norwegian PM inform about new non-refundable assistance for Moldova
Chisinau, 1 June /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu today had a discussion with Prime Minister of Norway Jonas Gahr Støre, during the second summit of the European Political Community, held in Bulboaca, the presidential press service has reported.
„I had a good discussion with Prime Minister of Norway Jonas Gahr Støre. I thanked for Norway’s decision to provide additional non-refundable financial assistance to Moldova. This money will be used to enhance the energy efficiency of our country, as well as to help our citizens cope with the huge challenges triggered by the war in Ukraine,’’ the head of state said
At the same time, the Moldovan president and the Norwegian PM discussed Moldova’s effort to diversify the energy sources, extend the market of export of Moldovan products, including to Norway. ‘’The signing of the European Free Trade Agreement with the European countries, among which Norway, in late June, will significantly boost our commercial relations,’’ Maia Sandu stressed.
