Moldovan president, Ambassador of the Netherlands discuss bilateral cooperation, justice reform, accession to EU
President Maia Sandu today had a meeting with Ambassador of the Netherlands to Moldova Fred Duijn. The discussions were focused on the strengthening of the bilateral cooperation, advancement of the reforms and the support provided by the Netherlands for Moldova’s European path.
An important subject was the cooperation in agriculture, in order to promote the innovations and help farmers cope with the climate changes. The two officials referred also to the justice reform, an essential process for Moldova, backed by the Hague government.
In the context of the elections due this year, the Moldovan president stressed how important was that the democracy and the democratic processes are protected from any interference from abroad. At the same time, the head of state highlighted the role of the independent media and the civil society in defending the democracy. Maia Sandu also thanked for the continuous support provided by the Netherlands in these sectors.
