
60th anniversary of Élysée Treaty to be celebrated in Chisinau
Chisinau, 21 Jan. /MOLDPRES/- The Embassy of France and the Embassy of Germany in the Republic of Moldova will celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Élysée Treaty.
According to the French Embassy in Chisinau, the event will take place on 23 January at the Europe Café starting at 12:00.
French Ambassador to Moldova Graham Paul said that the Élysée Treaty was signed 60 years ago between France and Germany. "This bilateral agreement is the cornerstone of reconciliation between the two countries, which have often been described as bitter enemies. The agreement shaped the relationship between these states and played an essential role in developing their cooperation in the service of European integration," said Graham Paul.
The event is jointly organized by the ambassadors of France and Germany to Moldova. It will focus on history and Franco-German reconciliation, the European construction, France and Germany today in the Republic of Moldova.
