European Council President says EPC Summit strong symbol

Chisinau, 1 June /MOLDPRES/ - European Council President Charles Michel today was met by President Maia Sandu in Bulboaca. He told the journalists present at the Summit of the European Political Community that the today’s event was quite important, a symbol of cooperation.    

„The today’s event is a symbol. The fact that I have come here is a strong signal. There are 45 countries represented here in Chisinau; we have a determined political will to coordinate and to cooperate in the energy, security and infrastructure sectors. We today have occasion to discuss all these subjects and to try to edify more discussions, in order to defend the common interests. We know the agenda and I am sure that we will have successful interventions; we have no doubts that the people want a stronger Europe,’’ the official said.    

Charles Michel also said that the European Commission till the end of this summer would publish a written report on enlargement and the subjects dealing with Moldova might be brought for discussion till the end of 2023.
