European Parliament Committee on Budgets approved assistance of 145 million euros for Moldova
Chisinau, April 18 /MOLDPRES/- European Parliament Committee on Budgets voted last night with 35 votes in favor, 0 abstentions and one vote against, the opinion on macro-financial assistance of 145 million euros for the Republic of Moldova. MEP Siegfried Mureșan made the statement.
The opinion was voted without any amendments being submitted.
"As the rapporteur for this opinion, I asked my colleagues in the budget committee to approve the assistance decision in the form proposed by the European Commission and not to submit any amendments. At the same time, we asked the International Trade Commission - the deciding commission on this legislative project - to do the same and vote on the European Commission's proposal without amendments", said Mureșan.
After the opinion of the European Parliament's Committee on Budgets, the vote in the International Trade Commission on the assistance follows, scheduled for April 27. The final vote, in the plenary session of the European Parliament, will most likely take place in May.
"In this way we make sure that the money gets to where it is needed as quickly as possible", the European official said.
