Maia Sandu elected as Prime Minister

Chisinau, 8 June /MOLDPRES/- Maia Sandu was elected today as Prime Minister, and a new Cabinet of Ministers was also appointed. Given that the Constitutional Court has decided that all laws (decisions) adopted by the MPs of the Parliament of the 10th legislature on 8 June 2019 will be declared unconstitutional.

Maia Sandu presented to the PSRM and ACUM bloc the government program and announced the members of the new Cabinet of Ministers. Andrei Năstase was appointed as Minister of Internal Affairs, and Vasile Sova - Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration.

Vadim Brânzan and Liliana Nicolaescu-Onofrei were nominated for the positions of Economy and Education Ministers. Stanislav Pavlovschi was appointed as Minister of Justice and Ala Nemerenco - head of the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection.

Pavel Voicu - Defense Ministry, and Nicu Popescu was appointed as candidate for the office of Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration.

Natalia Gavriliţă and Georgeta Mincu were appointed to the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Agriculture respectively.

The Constitutional Court of the Republic of Moldova today examined the complaint filed by the PDM on the constitutional review of the legislative acts adopted by the parliamentarians of the 10th legislature on 8 June 2019 and declared unconstitutional the election of Zinaida Greceanii as Parliament Speaker.

Also, it ruled that all laws (decisions) adopted by MPs of the Parliament of the 10th legislature on 8 June 2019 and thereafter will be declared unconstitutional.
