Moldovan Central Electoral Commission: repeated voting to be held in eight settlement of Moldova on 19 November
Chisinau, 8 November /MOLDPRES/ - Repeated voting will take place in eight settlements of Moldova on 19 November. The Central Electoral Commission approved a decision to this effect today.
According to CEC, it is about the election of the mayor of the village Cunicea and the Cunicea village council, Floresti district; mayor of the Nicolevca commune and the Nicolaevca commune council, Floresti district; the mayor of the Samananca village and Samananca village council, Orhei district; mayor of the Aluatu village and Aluatu village council, Taraclia district; mayor of the Salcia commune and Salcia commune council, Taraclia district; village council of Chioselia Rusa, Autonomous Territorial Unit of Gagauzia; mayor of the Chirsova village and Chirsova village council, UTA Gagauzia, Cotovscoe village council, UTA Gagauzia.
The decision comes after less than one fourth of the people registered in the electoral lists voted in these settlements at the general local elections. In accordance with the provisions of the Electoral Code, the elections are regarded invalid in certain constituencies, if less than one fourth of the number of people registered in the electoral lists voted at the polls.
In these conditions, the Commission instructed the organization of the repeated voting for the election of mayors and local councilors in these administrative and territorial units on 19 November.
The repeated voting will be made based on the same electoral lists and the same electoral councils and bureaus.
