Moldovan diplomacy head to participate in meetings of NATO, OSCE foreign affairs ministers

Chisinau, 29 November /MOLDPRES/ - Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Nicu Popescu on 29 November – 2 December will participate in two high-level meetings of the foreign affairs ministers, held in Bucharest (Romania) and Lodz (Poland).     

According to the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry (MAEIE), on 29-30 November, the Moldovan diplomacy head takes part in the meeting of foreign affairs ministers of the member countries of the North Atlantic Alliance, hosted in Bucharest. This is the first high-level event of NATO on the Eastern Flank after the unleashing of Russia’s brutal war against Ukraine and with the participation of Finland and Sweden, in process of accession to the NATO.   

Moldova’s participation in NATO’s ministerial meeting will take place within the working sessions in format of allies and partners, to which Moldova, Georgia and Bosnia & Herzegovina were invited.   

In Romania’s capital, Minister Nicu Popescu will also have a bilateral agenda. He will be received by acting President of the Senate Alina Ștefania Gorghiu, President of the Chamber of deputies Marcel Ciolacu, as well as other political leaders from Bucharest.     

Also, on 1-2 December, Deputy PM Nicu Popescu will participate in the 29th annual meeting of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), due to be held in Lodz, Poland – the state holding the chairmanship-in-office of the Organization.  

At the meeting, the foreign affairs ministers of the states participating in OSCE will review and assess the security situation and will discuss the Organization’s work in all fields of action.  

At the OSCE ministerial meeting, Deputy PM Nicu Popescu will give a national speech, in which he will speak about Moldova’s vision on the regional situation.

On the sidelines of the aforementioned meetings, the Moldovan diplomacy head will have more than 15 meetings with his counterparts from the partner countries.
