Chisinau, January 3 / MOLDPRES /- President Maia Sandu was given a booster dose of vaccine against Covid-19 this morning.

Shortly after the immunization, the head of state made statements to the press urging people to get vaccinated in order to cope with the pandemic situation that is likely to worsen due to the Omicron strain.

"I am worried about the pandemic situation in the world, the Omicron strain is spreading fast. The next wave will reach the Republic of Moldova and it is very important to get vaccinated. I urge those who have not received a single dose of vaccine to come to immunization centers. It is important to realize how serious this pandemic is, " the president said.

Maia Sandu was concerned that Moldova still has a low vaccination rate, even though our country started the immunization campaign early.
