Speaker Igor Grosu announced the allocation of 20 million lei from the state budget for the launch of a national program to renovate sacred sites. According to him, the priority in the first stage will be the churches located on national tourist routes, aiming to promote and enhance them.
The official emphasized that in recent years, the government has shown a strong commitment to conserving traditions and protecting historical monuments.
'We want these places, an important part of our cultural heritage, to be preserved and valued, especially since they also represent tourist attractions,' Grosu said.
The speaker also invited Moldovans from the diaspora to take advantage of the time spent with family and rediscover Moldova.
'Dear Moldovans, in a few days it's the Memorial Easter. Many of us will visit relatives, many have returned home. I invite you to take advantage of these days to spend time with family and rediscover Moldova, the country that awaits us and holds us in its heart wherever we may be,' said Grosu.
According to statistics, there are over 1,500 places of worship active in the country.
