
Agency for Military Science and Memory set up in Moldova
Chisinau, 9 December /MOLDPRES/ - The cabinet members today approved a decision on the organization and work of the Agency for Military Science and Memory. The agency will be an administrative authority subordinated to the Defence Ministry, through the merger of the Public Institution, Centre of Military History and Culture and the Centre of Strategic Defence and Security Studies at the Alexandr cel Bun Military Academy of Armed Forces.
Under the decision, the Agency has the task to develop and ensure the implementation of the state’s policy in the sector of military science, scientific research on the segment of security and defence, military history and memory, as well as to ensure the observance of the regime of war graves and commemorative works. The Agency will fulfill its duties established by a Regulation in the following activity fields: military science, scientific research on the segment of national security and defence, as well as military history; military memory, promotion of national and international historical values and traditions; state control over the regime of war graves and commemorative works.
The government decision established the Agency’s limit staff of 75 units, with an annual labour remuneration fund according to the legislation.
The Agency will be led by a director, appointed to public office and dismissed from public office under the law, by the defence minister. In his work, the Agency’s director is assisted by two deputy directors, appointed to office and dismissed from office under the law by the defence minister, at a proposal by the Agency’s director.
This decision enters into force on the date of its publication in the Official Journal (Monitorul Official).
