Aircraft unlawfully flew over airspace of Moldova
An aircraft with characteristics similar to the Gheran-3 (Shahed-238) drone unlawfully flew over the airspace of the Republic of Moldova during the night of August 10–11, in the context of Russian air attacks on Ukraine’s Odesa region.
According to the Air Operations Service of the National Army, the aircraft was detected at 23:41 while moving from the direction of the locality of Stepanivka in Odesa region. It entered the airspace of the Republic of Moldova near the locality of Priozerna.
One minute later, at 23:42, the aircraft left the national airspace, heading north, in the direction of the Ukrainian locality of Stepanivka.
The Moldovan authorities determined that the characteristics of the aircraft are similar to those of a Gheran-3 (Shahed-238), which flew over the airspace of the Republic of Moldova following air attacks launched by the Russian Federation on the Odesa region during the night.
A powerful explosion occurred on Sunday afternoon in the locality of Crocmaz, Ștefan Vodă district, which caused a vegetation fire. Fragments of a combat drone were found at the scene.
The Republic of Moldova has repeatedly condemned the unauthorized flying over its territory. At the same time, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced yesterday that it is recalling the Ambassador of the Republic of Moldova to Moscow for consultations.
