Chisinau city hall requests strengthening of patrol, security in capital
Chisinau, March 3 / MOLDPRES /- Chisinau city hall has called on central authorities to step up patrol capabilities in the city and guard refugee placement centers.
Chisinau mayor Ion Ceban announced that in the conditions in which acts of vandalism were registered by the refugees, the municipality asked the central authorities to strengthen the patrol and security capacity in the city. "During the last 24 hours, there have been cases of aggressive behavior and vandalism by some refugees. The risks to the security of the capital's inhabitants have increased. We have made an official request to increase the number of carabinieri patrols on the streets and to guard the refugee placement centers ", said Ceban.
At the same time, the mayor asked the central authorities for the additional activation by the Government of some placement places. "The pressure for social assistance and the placement of refugees is increasing. We anticipate that in four to five days the local public authorities will no longer be able to cope with the large number of refugees in Ukraine, "Ceban said.
In the last 24 hours, 1,775 people have passed through the MoldExpo Refugee Sorting Center, who have already been placed in placement centers.
