Moldova among Europe’s fastest-growing tourist destinations
Moldova ranks among the Top 10 European destinations with the best tourism performance in the first half of 2025, according to data released by the World Tourism Organization (UN Tourism).
The data indicates a 62-per cent increase in international arrivals compared to the pre-pandemic period of 2019, surpassing more established destinations in the region. The evolution highlights the country's potential to become an attractive, safe and sustainability-oriented tourist destination.
The government, through the Ministry of Culture and in collaboration with local authorities, industry associations and international partners, continues to promote sustainable tourism, in line with the European Union's Tourism Transition Pathway and UNWTO priorities.
