Moldova issued first permit for industrial hemp cultivation
Standing committee on drug control within the Medical Devices Agency has issued the first permit for industrial hemp cultivation in the Republic of Moldova. The decision allows the cultivation of the plant for the production of seeds, fibers and oil.
The authorization is granted in accordance with the Law on circulation of narcotic, psychotropic substances and precursors. The cultivation of industrial hemp will be carried out according to agrotechnical standards and the approved technological act.
The process of obtaining the permit is now digitalized and available online through the platform http://actpermisiv.gov.md, managed by the Electronic Governance Agency, ensuring transparency and efficiency.
Industrial hemp is considered a profitable and sustainable crop, with a growth cycle of just 90 days, allowing two to three harvests per year. Additionally, the plant helps combat climate change by capturing large amounts of carbon dioxide.
