Moldovan PM says state must strengthen capacities of detecting drones detected on Moldova's territory
Chisinau, 18 November /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Dorin Recean today came up with a reaction on the case of the drones who had fallen on the territory of Moldova on the last period. The official stressed that the country must strengthen the capacities of detecting such flying apparatus.
„With the enhancement of the intensity of the attacks by Russian missiles in the south-western area of Ukraine, we should expect more fragments, either such accompanying drones or even real drones falling on the territory of Moldova by mistake. This is one more reason for which Moldova must strengthen its capacities of detection and counteraction of such entries on the territory of Moldova. Each type of radar or of anti-air means should meet the targets they have,’’ Dorin Recean said.
The PM noted that the authorities had invested in the identification of the targets of the type of ballistic missiles or cruise missiles. Yet, ‘’we must continue to invest also in systems of detection and counteraction of these types of flying apparatus, including of the aforementioned drones.’’
Two Russian drones on 10 November were detected on the territory of Moldova, one in the Causeni district and another one in Rascani.
At the same time, in the end of the last week, Kiev and other Ukrainian cities were shaken by explosions in the wake of a massive attack with drones and missiles. According to the authorities, explosions were reported in the regions neighbouring with Moldova today morning by Border Police patrols from Valea Perjei, Tudora, Crocmaz and Olanesti. At the same time, in the Larga Segment, northern Briceni district, a missile was noticed on the Ukrainian side and a resident of the Groznita village, Briceni district, said that he had seen two flying apparatus resembling drones at a height of about 100 metres and they disappeared from sight when flying above the villages of Rotunda and Halahora de Sus.
The authorities specified that the flying apparatus were launched deliberately, in order not to be able to be detected by Defence Ministry’s radars.
