Moldova's Border Police receive donation of vehicles on behalf of Germany
Chisinau, 20 December /MOLDPRES/ - The Border Police today received a donation of 30 vehicles on behalf of the government of Germany.
At the event, Interior Minister Ana Revenco stressed that this donation proved once again that the foreign partners were close to Moldova. ‘’The Border Police represent the guarantee of Moldova’s state border. The today’s donation will contribute to the prevention and combating of criminality and illegal migration. Presently, we face more crises; therefore, it is necessary that we are vigilant, especially those who are in the first line. Since the beginning of the war in Ukraine, Germany has always been with us; we thank you for this support; we are sure that we will cope with all challenges together,’’ Ana Revenco said.
For his part, the head of the Border Police, Rosian Vasiloi, thanked the nation and government of Germany for the support provided. ‘’ The today’s event proves that the German people is with the one of Moldova. On 24 February, a not at all easy period started, more risks appeared at the state border at that time. Germany was with us, provided us with modern technologies and equipment, in order to cope with the challenges, for which we thank them,’’ Rosian Vasiloi noted.
Attending the event, Ambassador of Germany to Moldova Margret Uebber appreciated the good cooperation between the two countries. ‘’We are very much happy that we make this donation. It is about 30 fully equipped vehicles. With these field vehicles, policemen will be able to go on various road segments, no matter the weather outdoors. The efficient management of the border is important, in order to prevent the illegal crossings and to combat the criminality in the region. Germany has repeatedly backed the Border Police with modern cars and equipment and we want to continue this support next year,’’ the official noted.
The overall value of those 30 vehicles is of 2.2 million euros.
