More citizens, including public officials and journalists, have received messages threatening them with death. The authorities describe these actions as "an attempt to disrupt the events organized for Moldova's Independence Day and to intimidate citizens."
In the context, the General Police Inspectorate (IGP) has urged the population to report to the authorities, if they receive such messages.
"We urge the population to ignore this kind of messages and to report to the police if they have received such messages. Investigation officers already hold more information in this regard and are taking measures to identify and locate the individuals involved," said IGP.
In case of any reports, citizens can call Service 112.
