Chisinau, August 18 /MOLDPRES/- An employee of the National Public Security Inspectorate was detained today by anti-corruption officers, being suspected in an influence peddling case. The policewoman was denounced by a driver, who allegedly wanted to get rid of the penalty points.

According to CNA, the driver claims that the law enforcement officer promised the driver that he could intervene with his superiors, who have access to the centralized system for recording penalty points, and force them to delete the information from the program. For each point out of the 13 accumulated by the whistleblower, the INSP employee allegedly asked for 10 euros - a total of 130 euros. This would have asked the informant to transfer the money, in two installments, to two bank cards.

In the morning, searches were carried out at the duty office of the policewoman from the Causeni Police Inspectorate, at her home and in her car. Also, more information was collected from the centralized system of the Information Technology Service of the MAI.
