MP on Easter aid for families
MP Radu Marian provided explanations on Easter aid for families with children. He rejected the criticisms from opposition representatives who claim that this gesture has an electoral character and reiterated that such aid has been consistently offered in recent years, regardless of whether it was an election year or not.
Similar aid was previously granted: in 2022, pensioners with pensions under 5,000 lei received 1,500 lei, and from the same year, a monthly allowance of 1,000 lei is granted for each child under two years old. In 2023, teachers received between 3,000 and 5,000 lei, and in 2024, pensioners benefitted from 3,000 lei.
During the cold season, citizens received monthly support between 800 and 1,400 lei for energy expenses.
"The opposition and former corrupt officials jumped as if burned at the news that we will provide Easter aid of 1,500 lei for each child up to 5 years and 5,000 lei for each child with disabilities. They claim it is an electoral action. I understand their job is to criticize us no matter what, but criticizing when aid reaches children and families is cynical," said Marian.
He mentioned that deputies and authorities will continue to support people.
About 230,000 people will receive Easter aid from the state. Families with children up to five years old, including those from the diaspora, will receive 1,500 lei, and people with disabilities will receive 5,000 lei. The money can be collected from cards or at the post office starting from 2 May.
