Raids in Chisinau, Hincesti on car smuggling case

Chisinau, July 1 /MOLDPRES/- Law enforcement bodies have carried out 10 raids in Chisinau and Hincesti in a case of smuggling luxury cars from France, Italy and the Netherlands, estimated at over 4,200,000 lei. Three men from Moldova and two from France are under investigation and the cars have been seized for possible seizure.

According to the PCCOCS, the luxury cars were seized after three months of documenting the scheme. More specifically, following cooperation with the French authorities, 10 searches were carried out in Chisinau and Hâncesti. Some of the smuggled cars were reported as stolen in the European Union, while others were brought to Moldova with falsified registration numbers.

The luxury cars were seized to possible seizure for confiscation for the benefit of the state.
