The Tricolor was designated as official State Flag of the Republic of Moldova by the MPs of the first parliament in 1990 and the State Flag Day was established on 27 April 2010.
An official ceremony annually takes place outside the government building on the Flag Day, with guard of honour and presidential orchestra.
