Moldovan economics minister participates in Doha Forum

Chisinau, 13 May /MOLDPRES/ - Moldova spoke out for making more dynamic the economic ties both at European and global levels during the Doha Forum, held on 11-13 May, the Economics Ministry’s communication and public relations service has reported.

”Moldova has already accepted the competition with the European and international environment. Therefore, we will focus on our further effort further to enhance competitiveness, by applying international quality standards, innovation and technology transfer, diminishing administrative barriers, to improve business and investment environments, rural economic development, especially of non-agricultural ones,” Deputy Prime Minister, Economics Minister Stephane Bride said in his speech.

The competitiveness of Moldovan products will be improved by „ensuring energy security and efficiency, by diversifying energy sources and developing renewable energy resources, enhancing international economic cooperation at bilateral, regional and multilateral levels.”

During the Economy and Energy session, Bride gave a speech on Moldova’s economic development, access to traditional and renewable energy resources, connection to international markets and turning to account of the European market.

As for the energy security, Stephane Bride said that Moldova set the clear option to integrate in the European Union and its home energy market. The application to access to the Energy Charter Treaty and Treaty on Creation of Energy Community and successful implementation of accession stages represent a clear proof of this option.

The Doha Forum brought together about 500 high-level participants from 80 countries and international organisations.
