Chisinau, 30 June /MOLDPRES/ - Kiev and Moscow are willing to continue the five-plus-two talks, in order to find solutions to the Transnistrian conflict. Special Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office for the Transnistrian Settlement Process Radojko Bogojevic made statements to this effect today.

After the official paid a visit to Moscow and Kiev, Bogojevic arrived in Chisinau today and will leave for Tiraspol on 7 July. He is also to pay a visit to Brussels, and then will meet five-plus-two representatives from Washington.

„All these visits take place in order to synchronize our positions and to advance negotiations to achieve success. I was backed both in Kiev and Moscow and I hope to hear the same from Brussels and Washington too,” Bogojevic said.

For his part, Acting Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Victor Osipov highlighted that „the prolonged pause of the five-plus-two talks affects general atmosphere in the region and generates fears”.

As for a letter sent to UN representative in Moldova by the Transnistrian authorities, in which they threaten Chisinau with introduction of a visa regime for Moldovans of the right bank of the Dniester, Osipov answered that „as long as the Moldovan authorities did not receive the official letter, they abstain from comments as much as possible”.

The last 5+2 meeting was held in Vienna on 21 April. Both Osipov and Bogojevic highlighted that they hope that the negotiations will be resumed in next autumn.
