Chisinau, 11 December /MOLDPRES/ - Representatives of the Dignity and Truth Platform will join the People's Force Party. The head of the Great National Assembly Council, Andrei Nastase, made statements to this effect today.

The Platform's members have said the decision was taken after the present government had failed to fulfil any of the claims filed by protesters during three months.

"The persons in power have proved us that they are not able to fulfil the people's claims and neither they want this. Thus, the Great National Assembly Council ruled for us to join the People's Force Party, as our desiderata coincide with the ones of this party," the head of the Great National Assembly Council, Andrei Nastase, said.

The People's Force Party was created in 2013, is led by political pundit, former Moldovan ambassador to the USA Nicolae Chirtoaca. The formation has a social-liberal doctrine.

"This party has about 6,000 members. The red thread of the programme is the idea that Moldova is a captured state. We participated in the previous elections, and failed to awaken the people. Now, we will have a party about which nobody has heard in Moldova," the deputy leader of the People's Force Party, Alexandru Slusari, said.

The leader of the Dignity and Truth Platform said that a congress of the People's Force Party would be soon organised, during which formalities in terms of the formation's further activity would be established.

"On 13 December, a congress of this formation will be organised. The participants will bring for discussion the election of the leadership and the programme, compilation of a nominal list of a people's confidence government. And a new name of the party will be chosen too. Nevertheless, the Dignity and Truth Platform will further remain civic and will exert pressure on the government, till our claims are fulfilled," Nastase added.

The Dignity and Truth Platform is a politically non-affiliated movement from Moldova, launched in early 2015. Starting from the last spring, the Platform has been organising peaceful protests, and non-stop protests have been staged on the Great National Assembly Square beginning with 6 September.
