Hearings on progress, challenges in energy sector to be held in Moldovan parliament

Chisinau, 20 March /MOLDPRES/- Implementation of energy legislation will be discussed at hearings held in parliament. Attending the talks will be representatives of Parliament, Economics Ministry, National Energy Regulatory Agency and diplomats, the parliament’s communication and public relations department has reported.

The hearings on progress and challenges in implementing legal framework in the energy sector are organized at the request of Parliament Speaker Andrian Candu.

Rapporteurs will submit information about energy legislative package III implementation and action plan on its implementation.

The Economics Ministry will address the implementation of energy infrastructure projects, purchase of electricity at competitive prices and support from parliament for advancement. At the same time, ANRE will submit information about tariff adjustment in the context of cost covering and recovering tariff deviations accumulated by operators. They will also discuss the preparation of secondary legal framework to implement the law on promoting the use of energy from renewable sources.

The hearings will take place on 21 March at 11:00.
