Chisinau hosts Moldovan-Russian economic forum

Chisinau, 20 September /MOLDPRES/ - The second issue of the Moldovan-Russian economic forum started in Chisinau today; the event brings together about 1,000 participants.  

High representatives of state structures and business environments from Moldova and Russia are present at the forum.  

At the event, President Igor Dodon said that the decisions approved in the last months would allow advancing the Moldovan-Russian relations to a new level. The head of state voiced hope that, at the forum, economic agents from Moldova and Russia would establish partnerships and new concrete projects would be launched.

Attending the event was also Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Kozak, the Russian president’s special representative for the development of the commercial and economic relations with Moldova. The official highlighted that the number of the participants in the Moldovan-Russian economic forum had practically doubled at the event’s second edition. At the same time, Kozak noted that concrete decisions had been approved at a meeting of the Moldovan-Russian inter-governmental commission for economic cooperation, held in Chisinau on the last days. The Russian official stressed that this would allow boosting the collaboration between economic agents from Moldova and Russia.  

The economic forum was preceded by the 15th meeting of the Moldovan-Russian inter-governmental commission for economic cooperation, held in Chisinau on 18-19 September. High officials of ministries, departments and other executive bodies from Moldova and Russia participated in the event.
