
Moldova to receive new loan on behalf of top European bank
Chisinau, 18 May /MOLDPRES/ - Moldova will benefit from a loan worth 300 million euros on behalf of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) for the purchasing and stocking of natural gas. The parliament’s commission for foreign policy and European integration today approved a consultative notification on starting negotiations on the draft agreement on loan.
Under the draft, the loan is to be provided to Moldova in two installments worth 150 million euros each. The duration of the draft’s implementation is envisaged till 2025.
Within the draft, the implementing unit is to buy and stock natural gas in underground deposits from neighbor countries on the warm period of the year, when the gas price is lower. The procurements of natural gas will be made based on tenders, according to the procedure pre-established by EBRD.
