Republic of Moldova to present negotiating positions for EU accession Clusters 2 and 3

The Republic of Moldova will present its negotiating positions for two groups of chapters under the accession negotiations with the European Union: Internal Market (Cluster 2) and Competitiveness and Inclusive Growth (Cluster 3). The official invitation to this effect was sent to Chisinau authorities, Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration Cristina Gherasimov announced.

“Moldova is taking another step forward in the EU accession negotiations. We have received the official invitation to present our negotiating positions for two groups of chapters: Internal Market (Cluster 2) and Competitiveness and Inclusive Growth (Cluster 3). This stage prepares their formal opening at the next Intergovernmental Conference,” Cristina Gherasimov said.

According to the official, the authorities are ready to advance in the negotiation process. “We are ready to move forward. We thank the Irish Presidency of the Council of the EU for its support and for keeping Moldova’s accession on the European agenda,” the Deputy Prime Minister said.

So far, the Republic of Moldova has opened two negotiating clusters with the European Union: Cluster 1 – Fundamentals, on June 15, 2026, and Cluster 6 – External Relations, on July 14, 2026. Together, they cover seven negotiating chapters. The opening of Clusters 2 – Internal Market, 3 – Competitiveness and Inclusive Growth, 4 – Green Agenda and Sustainable Connectivity, and 5 – Resources, Agriculture and Cohesion is next.
