Germany to further support Moldova's European agenda
Chisinau, 30 September /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilita today had a meeting with new Ambassador of Germany to Moldova Margret Maria Uebber, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
The PM congratulated the diplomat on her appointment to office. Gavrilita expressed confidence that the solid relations between the two states would be consolidated in continuation and the cooperation in the fields of common interest would bring numerous benefits to the citizens of both countries.
Natalia Gavrilita appreciated the constant support provided by Germany to Moldova, in the context of the crises triggered by the war in Ukraine, as well as the technical and financial assistance in the implementation of projects which contribute to the modernization of the key sectors and improvement of the citizens’ living standards. The prime minister stressed that Moldova further relied on Germany’s support in the carrying out of the European integration, in the context of getting the status of country candidate for accession to EU.
„We have a double task. While we attenuate the impact of the war and energy crisis through which we go, we continue the reforms underway and firmly move towards our strategic goal – the one of starting the discussions on accession. On this road, Germany remains a reliable partner for us,’’ Natalia Gavrilita said.
For her part, Margret Maria Uebber confirmed Germany’s support for the carrying out of Moldova’s European agenda and promotion of reforms which will improve the citizens’ quality of life. Also, Germany’s ambassador said her country was interested in the extension of German investments in Moldova, in order to provide the country with a sustainable economic development, from which all citizens are to benefit.
