Chisinau, 28 September /MOLDPRES/ - President Igor Dodon today participated in a weekly meeting with Parliament Speaker Zinaida Greceanii and Prime Minister Ion Chicu, the presidential press service has reported.
The officials discussed several basic subjects, including the spread of COVID-19 and control measures. The head of state stressed that there were enough places in hospitals, as well as medicines, tests and consumables.
Igor Dodon informed that the support worth 900 lei would start being paid to those 660,000 people, whose pensions are less than 3,000 lei, beginning with 1 October.
In another context, the interlocutors referred to the repair of the building of the Serghei Lunchevici National Philharmonic, the further providing of financial support to farmers hit by the drought, as well as finishing of the repair of roads within the Good Roads for Everybody national programme, scheduled for early next November.
At the same time, the Moldovan president said the electoral campaign would start on 2 October, for which reason the weekly meetings of the top leadership will not be held, in order to avoid any speculation on the use of the administrative source.
In the end of the meeting, the head of state expressed concern about the situation in the Nagorno-Karabakh region and urged both sides to ceasefire and peace. In the context, Igor Dodon reiterated that both Armenia and Azerbaijan were friends of Moldova and the country has good relations with the leadership of both states. For this reason, the president urged both ethnic communities from Moldova to keep calm and not ‘’bring’’ the concerned conflict in Moldova.
