Chisinau, 22 June /MOLDPRES/ - Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Nicu Popescu has participated, along with Culture Minister Sergiu Prodan, in an online session on presenting Moldova’s tourism potential for the travel agencies from Israel. The event was organized at an initiative by Moldova’s Embassy in the State of Israel, in cooperation with the Israel Association of Travel Agencies and Consultants, Culture Ministry and the Investments Agency, the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry’s (MAEIE) press service has reported.

„I discussed this nice action on the dimension of the economic and cultural diplomacy with my Israeli counterpart Yair Lapid back in last February; it is presently materialized through the organization of this event, including a symbolical day for the Moldovan-Israeli bilateral dialogue, when our countries mark the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic relations,’’ Deputy PM Nicu Popescu said.

The Moldovan diplomacy head referred to the relations between the two countries, characterized by a common history and cultural heritage, noting the authorities’ interest in turning to good account the tourist potential. In the context, the sides welcomed an initiative by Moldova’s Embassy in the State of Israel on the creation of a tourist route based on the Jewish heritage and of a ‘’place of memory’’ in Moldova.

The event occasioned the participation of a large number of representatives of travel agencies from Israel. On this occasion, Minister Nicu Popescu made an invitation to Israeli citizens to visit Moldova, in order to enjoy the hospitability of the country’s people.
