
New Ambassador of Austria to Moldova presents letters of accreditation
Chisinau, 24 November /MOLDPRES/ - Acting President Igor Dodon today received the letters of accreditation from new Ambassador agree of Austria to Moldova Stella Avallone, the presidential press service has reported.
At the meeting, the head of state appreciated the ascendant dynamic of the Moldovan-Austrian relations. The Moldovan president said that, during years, Austria had confirmed its support for Moldova in all sectors. Also, the former Austrian ambassador to Moldova, Christine Freilinger, in last September was awarded the Order of Honour distinction, as a token of deep gratitude for the contribution brought to strengthening the friendship relations.
At the same time, Igor Dodon expressed thanks for the humanitarian assistance provided by Austria, at Moldova’s request, in the fight against the pandemic.
The officials were unanimous in the opinion that there was potential of cooperation in all fields, which had not been turned to good account between the two countries. The head of state opted for increasing the bilateral commerce, as well as for diversifying the economic cooperation. Although Austria remains one of the principal investors in Moldova, the president voiced interest in the attraction of new Austrian investments in Moldova, given that the country provides a lot of options.
In the end of the discussion, Igor Dodon wished the new Ambassador of Austria to Moldova success, assuring her of full support and openness for dialogue.
