PM participates in Moldova Cybersecurity Forum
Cybersecurity is a vast field and a continuous process in which both large companies operating digital technologies and every citizen must be involved. Citizens need to adopt good cyber hygiene practices, in order to avoid becoming victims of digital space criminals. Prime Minister Dorin Recean has conveyed a message to this effect at the second edition of the Moldova Cybersecurity Forum.
According to the PM, with the enhancement of the digitalization of public services, the risks of cyberattacks have also increased. Thus, ensuring cybersecurity is a priority for Moldova.
‘’Every citizen, every public institution, or private company has an important role in building a safe digital space,’’ emphasized Prime Minister Dorin Recean.
At the same time, Prime Minister Dorin Recean recalled the government's efforts to train specialists in the field of cybersecurity, needed both in the public and private sectors. Last year, the National Cybersecurity Innovation Institute 'Cybercor' was launched at the Technical University of Moldova.
Also, the government has ensured, for one year, the proper work of the Cybersecurity Agency (CSA), which supports the entire society in defense against cyber risks. Similarly, the capacity of the Information Technology and Cybersecurity Service (ITCS) has been strengthened, an institution that supports governmental infrastructure against cyber threats.
The Moldova Cybersecurity Forum is held during two days. The second edition of the event is dedicated to strengthening digital resilience and securing critical infrastructure. The forum brings together public institutions, the private sector and the academic environment, in order to explore collaboration opportunities, strengthen existing partnerships and identify innovative solutions to protect critical infrastructure.
