Moldovan PM has phone conversation with Austrian chancellor
Prime Minister Vasile Tofan has had a phone conversation with Christian Stocker, Federal Chancellor of Austria. The officials discussed strengthening economic relations, attracting Austrian investments to Moldova and the European agenda of Moldova.
The PM appreciated Austria’s constant support for Moldova’s European path and emphasized that the country was ready to advance to the next stage of the accession negotiations. The prime minister reiterated the government’s commitment to continuing reforms and fulfilling the goals assumed in this process.
Another topic of discussion concerned the development of economic relations between the two countries. The PM appreciated the results of the recent meeting of the Moldovan-Austrian Intergovernmental Commission for Economic Cooperation and the dialogue between companies from the two countries, held in Vienna. The sides discussed leveraging these results through new investment projects.
Vasile Tofan also appreciated Austria’s contribution to projects that directly benefit the citizens of Moldova, including the development of water infrastructure and projects in the education field. The officials agreed to continue the cooperation in these areas, as well as to exchange expertise to strengthen the capacity of Moldovan institutions in the European integration process.
