
All polling stations from Moldova closed
Chisinau, 1 November /MOLDPRES/ - All polling stations from Moldova closed at 21:00. The polling stations from abroad will be subsequently closed too.
According to data by the Central Electoral Commission (CEC), as many as 1,214, 378 people, who account for 42.7 per cent of all electors, came to vote till 21:00. Most voters were women - about 53 per cent and the most active voters were people with ages between 50 and 70 years. Only 8 per cent of the citizens who voted were people younger than 25 years.
CEC’s data also shows that, according to information received from district electoral councils, 39,919 electors demanded voting with mobile ballot boxes. Thus, 1,616 out of all requests were on behalf voters with symptoms of the COVID-19 respiratory infection and other solid reasons are invoked in 38,303 requests. Most applications registered on behalf of voters with symptoms of the respiratory infection, 548, were received from the central Ialoveni district.
The data shows a lower presence than at the ballot from 2016, when 50.95 per cent of the number of electors registered in the lists came to vote.
